The Birth of Up The Hatch

The Up The Hatch Bucket wasn't invented in a laboratory or conceived during a brainstorming session.

It was created out of necessity.

Following Hurricanes Florence and Michael in 2018, founder Steve faced a significant drainage issue at his North Carolina home. A renovation project had interrupted the drainage path around the home's foundation, causing hundreds of gallons of water to back up into the crawlspace.

While repairing the drainage system, a catch basin was installed to help redirect water away from the structure. However, the catch basin repeatedly filled with trapped water that needed to be removed before work could continue.

• Traditional buckets couldn't be tipped into the narrow opening.
• Small containers removed only ounces when gallons needed to be moved.
• Pumps weren't always the most practical solution.

The challenge led to a simple question, Why isn't there a bucket specifically designed to remove standing water from confined spaces? The answer became the Up The Hatch Bucket.

Today, the product helps homeowners, contractors, maintenance professionals, farmers, boat owners, restoration crews, and facility managers remove standing water more quickly and efficiently..
